Introducing PE 65 – our thinnest, squeezable PE film

An ecodesign that lasts — squeeze after squeeze
UPM Raflatac's PE 65 is the thinnest addition to our range of PE film label materials. These clear and white constructions offer the same excellent conformability, squeezability and resistance against water, oil, and chemicals as our existing PE 85 products, making them the perfect ecodesign alternative for squeezable containers and tubes in the household product and cosmetic segments.
Choosing thinner materials, like PE 65, can also significantly reduce the environmental impacts of your labels.
For example, implementing PE 65 into your portfolio can have an 14% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, a 13% reduction in water consumption and a 15% reduction in energy use during the entire product life cycle.** In fact, our PE 65 was awarded the “2017 Sustainable Packaging Award” by M. Success Media Group because of its sustainable design!
PE 65 benefits include:
- Increased shelf appeal – using thinner labels help create a seamless no-edge look on containers
- Reduced environmental impacts (greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption and energy consumption compared to standard gauge films)
- Operational savings – thinner films offer more labels per roll* promoting higher efficiency and less downtime as well as reduced transportation and packaging costs
*With the same roll diameter, PE 65 is 12% longer than PE 85. **Based on UPM Raflatac’s LCA study on PE Clear 65 versus PE Clear 85, performed in accordance with internationally recognized ISO 14040/44 standards. (June 2018)
